Fischer Elektromotoren and Formula Student – a worldwide movement
Formula Student was founded in 1981 by the SAE in the USA aiming to offer students a practical, project-orientated learning experience. Instead of pure theory, the focus is on independent teamwork: students develop, design and present their own formula racing car – very close to the reality of engineering careers.
In 1999, people got very enthusiastic about racing in Europe for the first time. A rapid development began in Silverstone (UK), which was followed by events in Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Spain – until Formula Student finally gained a foothold worldwide, from Australia to Japan, from Brazil to Germany.
Today, Formula Student is the largest internationally organised design competition for students. Over 500 teams with combustion engines and more than 200 electric teams – including 51 electric teams from Germany – now compete for best times and victories on the race track. It’s not just about the podium position based on the results of the races, but also about the best construction, design and performance.
Formula Student is not only popular with students, as it also serves as a marketing and recruiting platform as well as a source of innovation for participating and supporting companies from all over the world.
The demands are high: teamwork, discipline, time management and technical expertise are essential to succeed in the competition.
Fischer Elektromotoren – the basis for strong performance in Formula Student
Our new highlight video captures the unique atmosphere of Formula Student and showcases passion, engineering skills and the teamwork behind the project. Since 2014, we have been supporting student teams from around the world with our electric motors – watching ideas turn into innovations and concepts into high-performance race cars.
The collaboration with these teams is not only exciting for us but also provides valuable impulses for our own development. Dive into the world of Fischer E-Racing and experience how the future is being shaped.
